About Max
Meet Max
Max works mainly with adults, couples and young people — typically around personal development, stress, anxiety, self-worth, depression, chronic illness and pain, as well as leadership and coaching. He has several years of experience treating within the public health insurance referral categories. He also advises organisations on stress, motivation and staff dynamics, and provides specialist-level training for psychologists — including in couples therapy — and for other professions. Max also works with AI psychology in support of desired change, and offers trauma processing with EMDR 2.0 and the Flash technique — newer, gentle variants of EMDR.
In sessions Max draws on broad working experience: therapeutic work with socially vulnerable people in an NGO, chief psychologist at a pain clinic, leadership, teaching, research and business development in the private sector.
The approach is caring, direct and focused: together we examine how you can best support the development you want — through insight and action. You explore your inner life to understand how your own psychological mechanisms can work against change, and how you can take more charge of your life. The work is best described as building insight and robustness in the face of psychological discomfort — preparing you to live out the change you want on your own.
Alongside individual sessions, Max develops and trains AI models to support the therapeutic process. He is the architect behind Lovespiel.com and the EGOLAB AI Psychologist.
Max holds a PhD, cand.psych., cand.merc.jur and an MSc in Social and Applied Psychology — specialist in cognitive therapy, specialist in short-term psychodynamic therapy (ISTDP), peer-reviewed ACT trainer and specialist in AI psychology.
Areas of work
What you can see Max about
Personal development
Do you go in circles and meet the same unhelpful patterns in your relationships? Together we look at what holds you back from seeing and changing those patterns. Triggers and consequences are brought into awareness and given nuance — and you gradually build a greater capacity to be the person you want to be.
Anxiety, stress and depression
Treating and managing anxiety and stress are among the most common issues in the clinic. Psychoeducation, cognitive and emotion-focused therapies are used in the process of change.
EMDR 2.0 and Flash
Newer trauma methods: maximal working-memory taxation (EMDR 2.0) or minimal exposure (Flash) — gentle processing of overwhelming memories. Read about EMDR →
Chronic illness and pain
Experience from a pain clinic — new frames and new dreams when the body sets limits.
Couples therapy
Grounded in process-oriented couples therapy, couples are supported in understanding and handling emotional reactions. The goal is a meaningful relationship with room for both partners — where nobody is "right" or "wrong". Read about couples therapy →
Leadership, coaching and business
Development of leaders in handling difficult decisions and interpersonal dynamics. Advice on change, conflict, stress and motivation in teams.
Supervision and teaching
Supervision and specialist-level training of psychologists — among other things as a peer-reviewed ACT trainer. Read about supervision →
