About Thomas

Meet Thomas

Thomas trained at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral and Metacognitive Therapy (CEKTOS) in Copenhagen and is trained in modern forms of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness, metacognitive therapy (MCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He also has a longer training in psychoanalytic long-term therapy and offers psychoanalysis. In practice, Thomas combines these frameworks to fit the issues at hand.

He offers treatment of depression, anxiety, grief, self-worth and existential crises. Treatment is a collaboration in which you try out different ways of approaching your difficulty together — until you find the one that works for you.

Thomas also works with couples: in a relationship with conflict, the flaws often seem to lie with the other partner. Thomas helps couples identify longings and needs, and build a respectful, loving way of communicating in which both take responsibility.

Thomas is a member of the Danish Association for Psychotherapy (MPF) and the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP). He sees clients at Nørreport and on Østerbro.

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy

Psychoanalysis with Thomas

Beyond the cognitive toolbox, Thomas is a specialist in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and offers psychoanalysis — long-term therapy, from the Copenhagen office.

He has a long further training in the method, receives ongoing supervision and has himself been in analysis for several years. That is part of the tradition: the one who listens must know the method from the inside.

Psychoanalysis is the long, deep course, for those who want to understand and change the patterns that have followed them for a long time. Read more about psychoanalytic long-term therapy here.

Short or long course?

The cognitive methods typically work in a focused way with a defined issue over weeks to months. Psychoanalysis extends over a longer period and goes after the deeper patterns. In the first session Thomas helps you find the format that fits your needs.
